SM Town to release winter album December 13th!

The collaborative efforts of SM Entertainment singers will culminate in a winter album, which is their first winter album to be released in 4 years.

SM Town’s winter album “2011 SMTOWN Winter-The Warmest Gift”, which will be representative of season albums, will be released on December 13. Following 2007, this is a winter album which will be SM Town’s first in 4 years.

SM singers such as Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Trax, CSJH The Grace’s Dana & Sunday, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, f(x), Zhang Liyin and J-min will all participate in this album.

There will be 7 new songs showcasing a diverse range of winter atmospheres. Further, the album will of course also include the world-famous carols “Last Christmas” and “Sleigh Ride” etc, with new remakes of 4 of these old songs, making up a total of 11 tracks.

Particularly, SM Town has started from Seoul, and gone on to LA, Tokyo, Paris, New York and Shanghai etc, holding a successful world tour and confirming the global brand power of SM. This is an album for SM Town to convey their gratitude to their fans. All the songs in the album will be recorded in English to allow fans from all around the world to enjoy these carol songs.

Pursuant to the album title “The Warmest Gift”, the Santa who will deliver this gift will be Super Junior. The title track sung by Super Junior, “Santa U Are The One”, has a light rhythm and cute lyrics which go “The Santa who brings all the laughter and gifts in the world is the best”, with the melody being compatible with the light atmosphere given off.

Further, TVXQ’s “Sleigh Ride” has a light swing rhythm, accompanied by the orchestra’s grandeur and big band’s powerful charm to give it an even more perfect sound, making it seem as if one was really riding on a sleigh and expressing the vivacity and excitement of Christmas. SHINee will have its own unique color in their rendition of the carol “Last Christmas”, creating a dreamy atmosphere. This will be a electronic dance track with the well-rounded charm of powerful synthesized pop, showcasing a different charm.

The new song “Diamond”, while having a familiar yet refined style, is a standard pop song which will showcase the feel of a heartwarming and blessed winter and bring out by SNSD’s charms. Following their song “Stand Up!” which was included in their 1st official album, f(x) will once again be singing Peppertones’ self-produced song “1, 2, 3″, showcasing Peppertones’ unique form of bright and healthy music as a winter song. This will bring out a cute and lovable atmosphere, and is expected to showcase the atmosphere of winter even more.

BoA’s new song “Distance” has a sweet melodious feel. The simple rhythm and dreamy feel of this piano gift is an R&B ballad track which allows BoA to show off her melancholic yet graceful vocals. Kangta’s sweet melodious voice will be conveyed through the song, “For The First Time”, an acoustic ballad track which reminisces about the days together with the lady he loves and displays the overwhelming feelings upon receiving her love.

Trax will have a new English rendition of their song “Like A Dream”, which was included in their 3rd mini album, and which matches with the winter atmosphere. Zhang Liyin will remake the world-famous song “The First Noel”. CSJH The Grace’s Dana and Sunday will present the pop ballad “Amazing”, which emphasizes the importance of the everyday things in life. J-min will sing an original song by John Lennon and Ono Yoko, showing off her refreshing yet rich vocals in “Happy X-Mas”. These make up a total of 11 songs of diverse genres from the singers.

Meanwhile, the 2011 SM Town winter album is also scheduled to be released in Japan on December 14.

SM Entertainment to release a boy group next year?

According to Newsen, SM Entertainment will be releasing another idol group for the first time in three years.
An insider has reported that SM Entertainment will be releasing a boy group, bringing together Korean, Japanese, and Chinese members in order to better reach out to a more international audience. The number of members have yet to be decided, however the group will be also working as units after their official debut.
SM Entertainment has not released a new idol group after the release of f(x) back in September of 2009. SM artists have grouped together to form the ‘SM the ballad’, but no new faces have emerged from the agency.
For the past two years, SM has been putting on SM TOWN LIVE concerts all over the world, spreading K-pop awareness in Japan, China, Southeast Asia, as well as crossing over to Europe, and completing successful sold-out shows in major American cities such as Los Angeles and New York.
SM Entertainment has successfully promoted their artists through their official SNS and Youtubechannel, and likewise, fans will be able to immediately receive updates on their new upcoming idol group through these sources as well. What’s garnering more attention is the fact that SME is breaking the current trend of girl groups and will be releasing an all-male idol group.

Zhang Liyin hinting about SMTOWN’s Christmas album?

SM Entertainment artist Zhang Liyin surprised her fans today after one of her Weibo updates revealed that she just finished recording for SM Entertainment’s Christmas album. On the 11th of November, Zhang Liyin updated her personal account for Weibo, a social networking site in China, with details of her recent activities.

On the said update she revealed that, “Christmas is coming soon. Just finished recording SM Christmas album. Now relaxing my mood, (with) a cup of hot coffee.” A photo of Zhang Liyin with a cup of coffee was also included in the update.

The update sparked SM Entertainment’s followers of a possible Christmas album on the works, after years of rumours and speculations. The last winter album SM Entertainment released was “2007 Winter SMTown – Only Love” back in 2007.

At the moment, SM Entertainment has not yet released an official statement about the pending release, but it seems that Zhang Liyin just gave us a hint.

“SM TOWN IN TOKYO” To be aired on Japanese TV

Couldn′t snag tickets to the SMTown concert in Tokyo? Now you can watch it in the comfort of your own home! The special edition of SMTown Live in Tokyo concert will air on Japanese satellite TV station, Wowow, on November 13. This is the first time a SM concert will be aired on Japanese television.

During the concert, which took place September 3-4 at the Tokyo Dome, 36 SM Entertainment artists including SHINee,TVXQ, Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, f(x), BoA, Kangta, and the Grace put on splendid performances. The concert exceeded expectations and drew 150,000 Japanese fans.

Britain’s Largest Theater Chain’s Reservation System Went Down Just 1 minute After the Ticket Sales Began!

Tickets for Opening Gala Concert of the 6th London Korean Film Festival, ‘SHINee in London,’ are all Sold out!

SHINee, the Icon of KPOP Wave in Europe, Proved Tremendous Popularity in London! 

SHINee proved their tremendous popularity once again by crashing the Britain’s largest theater chain’s reservation system server.

SHINee will hold this gala concert after they are invited to ‘The 6th London Korean Film Festival’ and SHINee is the first Korean idol to hold a solo concert in London.

In fact, SHINee has already performed in AbbeyRoadStudios (famous for studio of Beatles) in June as the first Asian artist, but it was intended for media and music officials and held in private. However, since this performance is the first solo gala concert in London, which is open to fans, competition for tickets was expected.

Actually, as soon as ticket sales began for this concert on the 27th, Odeon’s reservation system, the Britain’s largest theater chain, went down for 5 hours because it was overwhelmed by the thousands of fans who were trying to buy tickets.

Therefore, not only the reservation for SHINee’s concert but also reservation for other movie tickets of hundreds of theaters in Britain was unavailable. Fans made reservation through phone calls or visited the theater to get the tickets after waiting for long lines. Local audiences, who wanted to buy other tickets, unusually reserved them by phone or purchased on site.

Odeon said “It’s our first time to make server down by ticket booking. We never expect this much of people coming in all at once,” and it is said that for SHINee fans’ safety, Odeon will develop measures to keep order at the theater.

SHINee will perform their hit songs including ‘Replay’ ‘Juliette’ ‘Ring Ding Dong’ ‘LUCIFER’ etc. and have an interview session at this gala concert.

Meanwhile, SHINee will leave for the opening gala concert ‘SHINee in London’ of ‘The London Korean Film Festival’ which will be held in London, Britain on November 3rd.
